Nicosia (Cyprus), May 11 – Olympian Kynan Chenai and Sabeera Haris secured a bronze medal for India in the trap mixed team event as the ISSF Shotgun World Cup concluded in Nicosia on Sunday.

The Indian duo edged past Turkey’s Tolga Tuncer and Pelin Kaya in a thrilling bronze medal match, winning 34-33. With this victory, India concluded its campaign at the event with a single bronze medal.

China emerged victorious in the final, defeating Poland 42-39 to claim the gold medal, while Poland took home the silver.

Strong Show in Qualification​

Kynan and Sabeera had earlier finished fourth among the 34 participating teams in the qualification round, scoring a combined total of 142 from 75 shots each. Sabeera led with an impressive tally of 72 (series: 23, 25, 24), while Kynan contributed 70 (series: 23, 25, 22).

The second Indian pair, Shardul Vihan and Kirti Gupta, recorded a total of 137, placing them 17th overall.

Medal Tally Overview​

Neutral Athletes topped the overall medal standings at the World Cup, clinching two of the five gold medals available. China followed in second place with one gold and one silver. Spain and Italy finished joint third, each securing one gold.

This event marked the conclusion of the ISSF Shotgun World Cup in Cyprus, with intense competition and standout performances highlighting the global shooting landscape.
