Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) has announced securing multiple significant orders in its power transmission and distribution business, further expanding its presence domestically and internationally.

Strengthening India's Renewable Energy Infrastructure

In India, L&T received a critical order to construct transmission line segments designated for a Renewable Energy Zone in Uttar Pradesh. This development marks another step forward in India's drive toward renewable energy adoption, enhancing the country's transmission capacity to effectively utilize green energy.

Earlier, the company had also secured a significant turnkey project aimed at establishing a transmission line in Southern India. This project is crucial for evacuating power generated from a non-fossil fuel-based plant, reinforcing L&T's commitment to supporting India's renewable energy ambitions.

Expanding Middle East Footprint

L&T continues to expand its overseas operations, having recently secured orders in the Middle East region:

  • In Saudi Arabia, the company won a contract for constructing a Gas Insulated Substation (GIS). This substation will enhance the reliability and efficiency of power distribution in the region.
  • In Abu Dhabi, L&T received an order to set up a new grid station along with related infrastructure. This project highlights L&T’s growing international credibility in delivering complex energy infrastructure projects.
