L&T Secures Large Power Transmission Orders in India and Middle East

New Delhi, April 1 – Infrastructure giant Larsen & Toubro (L&T) announced on Tuesday that its Power Transmission and Distribution (PT&D) business has won large-scale orders across both domestic and international markets.

According to the company’s regulatory filing with the BSE, the newly acquired contracts fall under L&T’s classification of "large" orders, which are valued between ₹2,500 crore and ₹5,000 crore.

Major Projects in India and the Middle East

Domestically, L&T has secured a significant order for setting up a gas-insulated substation in Western India, alongside a turnkey project for constructing a transmission line to support power evacuation in the same region.

On the international front, the company has landed two major projects in Saudi Arabia, involving the installation of 380kV overhead transmission lines. Spanning over 130 route kilometres, these lines aim to ensure reliable electricity supply to key townships surrounding Riyadh.

Additionally, L&T’s PT&D vertical has received new contracts in the UAE and Qatar, further strengthening its footprint in the Middle East. Supplementary orders have also been placed for ongoing projects in India and Oman.

Strategic Momentum and Market Confidence

The company stated that these wins reflect the ongoing momentum in global investments aimed at building efficient grid infrastructure. They also underscore the continued trust of clients in L&T’s technical and execution capabilities, both in India and abroad.

These developments highlight L&T’s growing role in addressing the power infrastructure needs of emerging and established markets, particularly in the Middle East and South Asia.
