Late-Night Firing Incident Near House in Delhi’s Yamuna Vihar, Police Launch Investigation

New Delhi, Feb 28: A late-night firing incident was reported near a residence in the Yamuna Vihar area of northeast Delhi, prompting a swift police response, officials confirmed on Friday.

According to authorities, a team from Bhajanpura police station reached the scene after receiving a PCR call at approximately 1:15 AM. Upon inspection, officers discovered four empty cartridges near the gate of the house.

Shahnawaj, a 39-year-old resident of the house, informed police that he heard a gunshot around 1:05 AM. Stepping outside, he reportedly saw two individuals firing shots into the air before fleeing the scene on a scooter. He also stated that he had not received any prior threats.

Law enforcement has registered a case and conducted forensic examinations at the site. Efforts are underway to identify the culprits, with police currently reviewing CCTV footage from the area for leads.

Further investigations are in progress to determine the motive behind the incident.
