New Delhi, Feb 27: Delhi woke up to a light drizzle on Thursday morning, with the minimum temperature settling at 19.5 degrees Celsius, which is 4.1 degrees above the season's average. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted thunderstorms accompanied by rain throughout the day, with the maximum temperature expected to hover around 26 degrees Celsius.

At 8:30 AM, humidity levels were recorded at 72%, indicating a moist start to the day. Meanwhile, the city's air quality remained a concern, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) stood at 260 at 9 AM, placing it in the 'poor' category, as per the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB).

The AQI scale classifies air quality as follows:
  • 0-50: Good
  • 51-100: Satisfactory
  • 101-200: Moderate
  • 201-300: Poor
  • 301-400: Very Poor
  • 401-500: Severe
With the possibility of rainfall, experts suggest it may bring temporary relief from pollution by reducing dust and particulate matter in the air. However, residents are advised to take necessary precautions, especially those sensitive to air pollution.
