New Delhi, Feb 3 (PTI) – Union Minister Piyush Goyal on Monday asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is on track for a resounding victory in the upcoming Delhi Assembly elections, akin to its recent electoral successes in Maharashtra and Haryana.
Speaking at a press conference held at the BJP headquarters, Goyal criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government, accusing it of failing to provide clean drinking water and air to the people of the national capital. He further alleged that the Arvind Kejriwal-led government had failed to fulfill its promises, including the rejuvenation of the Yamuna river.
The Union Commerce and Industry Minister emphasized that voters now seek a government that delivers on its promises and prioritizes development, rather than indulging in political conflicts."All sections of people have faith in Narendra Modi and his guarantees. February 5 will be a historic milestone for the BJP and a golden day for the people of Delhi," Goyal declared confidently.
Citing the massive turnout at rallies addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, and BJP President JP Nadda, Goyal asserted that the party is well-positioned to sweep all seats in Delhi, including constituencies previously considered challenging.
He further claimed that people across all demographics—including Purvanchalis, Uttarakhandis, migrant communities, and native Delhiites—have decided to rally behind the BJP in the upcoming elections.
The 70-member Delhi Assembly will go to polls on February 5, with the election results set to be announced on February 8.
