Mumbai, May 10 — The Lodha Foundation has pledged extensive support to the families of armed forces personnel who lost their lives in Operation Sindoor, a military response launched by India following the deadly Pahalgam terror attack.
In a statement released on Saturday, the non-profit arm of the Lodha Group outlined a multi-pronged assistance program for the next of kin of the martyrs. The initiative includes education funding for children, employment support for spouses, and comprehensive health insurance coverage.
Key Measures Announced by Lodha Foundation
- Education for Children: The foundation will bear the entire cost of education for the martyrs’ children until graduation. This includes tuition fees, hostel charges, books, and other academic expenses. Additionally, the children will be eligible for advanced education programs and mentorship opportunities.
- Employment and Skilling for Spouses: The spouses of the deceased soldiers will receive preferential job opportunities within the Lodha Group. The foundation will also provide skill development and entrepreneurship training to enable long-term financial stability.
- Health Insurance Coverage: The families will be covered under a health insurance plan for a period of 20 years, ensuring their medical needs are taken care of in the long run.
Background of Operation Sindoor
Operation Sindoor was launched after 26 civilians were killed in Pahalgam last month in a terror attack. The Indian military responded with a series of targeted actions, dismantling terror infrastructures in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). In retaliation, Pakistan initiated heavy shelling and drone attacks, resulting in the deaths of at least two Indian soldiers.Earlier today, India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire, pausing military escalation on land, air, and sea.
The Lodha Foundation’s gesture aims to recognize the sacrifice of the fallen soldiers and provide meaningful, long-term support to their families.
