One Worker Dead, Three Seriously Injured in Textile Factory Collapse at Focal Point

A massive rescue operation continued on Sunday in Ludhiana's Focal Point area, following the tragic collapse of a textile factory building late Saturday evening. Authorities confirmed that one worker was killed, and three others sustained serious injuries.

According to officials, a total of six workers were initially trapped under the rubble. Teams from the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), supported by police, fire brigade, the factories department, and Ludhiana Municipal Corporation, successfully pulled out all six workers. Sadly, one worker was declared dead at the site.

Sudden Collapse Shocks Workers and Residents

An eyewitness reported hearing a loud noise just moments before the building came crashing down, heightening the panic among local residents and workers. Preliminary investigations suggest that ongoing repair work at the factory led to a structural failure when a supporting pillar collapsed.

Multi-Agency Rescue Operation Underway

Two specialized teams from the NDRF are spearheading the search-and-rescue efforts, meticulously combing through debris to ensure no more victims remain trapped. Alongside the NDRF, local police, fire brigade personnel, factory inspection teams, and municipal officials are actively involved in the ongoing rescue mission.

Authorities have indicated that efforts will continue until complete certainty is achieved that no individuals remain trapped beneath the rubble.
