Ludhiana Laborer Targeted in Acid Attack.webp

Ludhiana, February 17 An unidentified man on a motorcycle allegedly threw acid on a 40-year-old woman working as a labourer in Ludhiana, Punjab, leaving her injured, police said on Tuesday.

The acid attack was reported in Dugri Colony, Ludhiana. The victim is from Uttar Pradesh and is the mother of three children.

The attacker approached the woman and pretended to ask something, after which he allegedly threw acid on her. The woman's face and eyes were the most affected, and she was taken to the Civil Hospital for treatment. The accused, wearing a helmet, escaped the scene.

Police said that CCTV footage is being analyzed to identify the perpetrator.

"We are using all available resources to identify and apprehend the accused," said DCP Jaskaranjit Singh Teja.

The search for the attacker is ongoing, and authorities have urged anyone with information to come forward.
