Bhopal, February 4 (PTI) — In a heartwarming display of simplicity and accessibility, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav surprised passengers aboard the Bhopal-bound Intercity Express on Tuesday. Boarding the train at Narmadapuram station, the CM freely mingled with travelers, engaging them in casual conversation and offering a rare opportunity for them to share their thoughts.
The Intercity Express, which was en route to Rani Kamlapati railway station from Narmadapuram, became the setting for a unique interaction as passengers, many of whom were unprepared for the encounter, found themselves in direct dialogue with the chief minister. Travelling in an unassuming manner, Yadav, accompanied by his staff, purchased tickets like any ordinary traveler, which were duly checked by the train conductor.
Once on board, Yadav was quickly surrounded by passengers, including children, who eagerly approached him. The CM greeted the young ones by handing out chocolates, adding a personal touch to his interactions. Throughout the journey, Yadav shared lighthearted moments, anecdotes, and even selfies, striking a chord with fellow passengers.
"His simplicity and approachability left us all astonished," one official quoted the passengers, adding, "None of us could have imagined that a chief minister would meet us in such an uncomplicated and humble manner."
Yadav, who assumed office in December 2023, reflected on his leadership style, emphasizing his commitment to maintaining the trust of the people. "Being the head of the government, my primary duty is to serve the people," he said. "A chief minister's true position is earned only through the love and trust of the people. I constantly work to ensure that their faith in me remains strong and unshaken."
Drawing a parallel to Prime Minister Narendra Modi's outreach, Yadav added, "Like PM Modi, I also engage with people, shake hands, converse with them, and take selfies. This is how I share my 'Mann Ki Baat' with the public."
Earlier in the day, Yadav had attended the "Maa Narmada Janmotsav-Gaurav Diwas" program in Narmadapuram, held on the occasion of Narmada Jayanti, where he served as the chief guest. Following the event, he took to social media to express his thoughts: "Tvadiya Pad Pankaj Namami Devi Narmade... Darshan-worship of life-giving mother Narmada ji at Sethani Ghat in Narmadapuram has filled me with new energy."
He continued, "On this auspicious day of Narmada Jayanti, I participated in the Maa Narmada Janmotsav and Gaurav Diwas program and shared my reflections. With the blessings of Mother Narmada, may the farmers of Madhya Pradesh continue to thrive, and pure drinking water reach every home."
In closing, Yadav offered a prayer for prosperity: "May the blessings of Mother Narmada fill every home with wealth, grains, and happiness. May the light of joy shine brightly in every household."
This unexpected interaction on the train left a lasting impression on the passengers, showcasing the chief minister's down-to-earth style of leadership.
