Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Saturday welcomed the ceasefire agreement between India and Pakistan, describing it as a positive move. However, he refrained from making an official statement, citing a lack of complete information on the development.

Speaking to reporters in Ujjain, Fadnavis said, "It is a good thing. I can't speak about it officially as I don't have all the information. I was on tour when I learnt about the ceasefire. I’ll speak about it after getting all the information."

The Chief Minister emphasized India's growing strength under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership, stating that the nation has demonstrated its capabilities effectively on the global stage.

Fadnavis made the remarks after offering prayers at the revered Mahakaleshwar temple in Ujjain.

Earlier in the day, Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri announced that the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMOs) of India and Pakistan had agreed to cease all military actions across land, air, and sea effective from 5 PM on Saturday.

This significant development followed a statement from US President Donald Trump, who revealed that the ceasefire was the outcome of talks mediated by the United States and would be implemented immediately and in full.
