Mumbai, May 13 — The Maharashtra government has sanctioned a total of ₹1.57 crore for the procurement of new official vehicles, including four for the governor’s convoy and one for a state minister.
According to an order issued by the General Administration Department (GAD), the four vehicles allocated for the governor's convoy will replace the existing fleet and will cost ₹1.31 crore. The move is aimed at upgrading the official transport facilities provided to the state’s highest constitutional authority.
In a separate directive, the School Education Department approved the purchase of a new vehicle for Minister of State for School Education, Pankaj Bhoyar. The vehicle is estimated to cost ₹25.6 lakh.
Both orders were issued last week, formalizing the financial approval for the acquisitions.
