
Mumbai, February 10 The ruling BJP-led Mahayuti coalition in Maharashtra won 560 out of the 731 Zilla Parishad seats and 1,143 out of the 1,462 Panchayat Samiti seats, according to the final results released by the Maharashtra State Election Commission on Tuesday.
The elections were held on February 7. The figures were revised after the results of 24 seats in the Karad Panchayat Samiti were announced.
Out of the 1,462 seats across 125 Panchayat Samitis, the Bharatiya Janata Party won 491, the Nationalist Congress Party won 327, and the Shiv Sena won 325 seats.
Out of the 731 seats across 12 Zilla Parishads, the BJP won 233, the NCP won 166, and the Shiv Sena won 161 seats.
The BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP are part of the Mahayuti alliance.
As for the opposition, the Congress won 58 seats in the Zilla Parishad elections, the Shiv Sena (UBT) won 44, and the NCP (SP) won 26 seats. The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena won two seats, while 41 seats went to independent candidates and others.
In the Panchayat Samiti elections, the Congress won 98, the NCP (SP) won 50, the Shiv Sena (UBT) won 86, and the MNS won two seats. Other candidates, including independents, won 83 seats.
