Strong Domestic Demand Boosts Sales Figures; Electric SUVs See Promising Start
Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd (M&M) announced a solid 18% increase in its domestic passenger vehicle (PV) sales for March 2025, selling 48,048 units compared to 40,631 units during the same month in the previous year.
Annual Performance Highlights
For the financial year 2024-25, Mahindra & Mahindra reported a significant 20% rise in domestic passenger vehicle sales. The company's total domestic PV sales reached 5,51,487 units, up from 4,59,877 units in fiscal 2023-24.
The overall passenger vehicle sales for March, including exports, stood at 50,835 units.
Commercial Vehicle Sales Performance
In the commercial vehicle segment, Mahindra reported domestic sales of 23,951 units for March 2025, highlighting the company's continued strong presence in both passenger and commercial segments.
Electric SUVs Gain Momentum
Marking a strategic move into electric vehicles, Mahindra recently commenced deliveries of its electric SUVs, witnessing robust initial demand. Veejay Nakra, President of M&M’s Automotive Division, expressed optimism, saying, "We also started the deliveries of our electric origin SUVs, where we see a strong continued demand momentum."
Nakra further highlighted a milestone achievement, adding, "The year ended on a very positive note with the company selling over 5 lakh SUVs in the domestic market for the first time ever."
