Mahindra & Mahindra Reports Strong Growth in Auto and Farm Equipment Sales for January 2025

Mumbai, February 1, 2025 – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), one of India’s leading automotive and farm equipment manufacturers, has announced its sales performance for January 2025, reporting robust growth across multiple segments.

Key Auto Sales Highlights

  • Total Auto Sales: 85,432 units (+16% YoY)
  • SUV Sales (Domestic): 50,659 units (+18% YoY)
  • Commercial Vehicle Sales: 23,917 units
  • Exports: 3,404 units (+95% YoY)
Mahindra’s utility vehicle segment performed particularly well, with domestic sales reaching 50,659 units, an 18% year-on-year (YoY) growth. Including exports, total UV sales were 52,306 units. The company’s commercial vehicles segment also maintained steady performance, with 23,917 units sold in the domestic market.

According to Veejay Nakra, President, Automotive Division, M&M, "We began the new year with 50,659 SUVs sold, an 18% increase, and overall auto sales at 85,432 units, growing by 16%. The Electric Origin SUVs, BE6 and XEV 9E, received strong interest at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo in New Delhi. Test drives began on January 14, and bookings will commence on February 14."

Farm Equipment Sector Performance

  • Domestic Tractor Sales: 26,305 units (+15% YoY)
  • Total Tractor Sales (Including Exports): 27,557 units (+15% YoY)
  • Exports: 1,252 units (+28% YoY)
Mahindra’s Farm Equipment Sector (FES) reported domestic tractor sales of 26,305 units, marking a 15% YoY growth. Including exports, total tractor sales reached 27,557 units.

"We have sold 26,305 tractors in the domestic market, registering 15% growth. Favorable soil moisture conditions, above-normal monsoon, high water reservoir levels, and increased Rabi sowing have contributed to demand. Additionally, government subsidies and rural development schemes are expected to drive growth in the coming months. Export sales stood at 1,252 units, up 28% YoY."
