Mahindra & Mahindra Reports Strong Sales Growth in February 2025

Mumbai, March 01, 2025 – Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. (M&M), a leading Indian automotive and farm equipment manufacturer, reported a robust performance in February 2025 across its automotive and farm equipment segments.


Automotive Sales Performance

M&M recorded total auto sales of 83,702 units, reflecting a 15% year-on-year (YoY) growth, including exports. The company's SUV segment continued its strong momentum, contributing significantly to overall sales.

Key Highlights:

  • Utility Vehicles (SUVs): 50,420 units sold in the domestic market, marking a 19% YoY increase.
  • Total SUV Sales (Including Exports): 52,386 units.
  • Commercial Vehicles:
    • LCV < 2T: 3,290 units, a 21% YoY decline.
    • LCV 2T – 3.5T: 19,155 units, up 9% YoY.
    • LCV > 3.5T & MHCV: 1,381 units, showing 23% YoY growth.
    • Three-Wheelers: 6,395 units, increasing by 4% YoY.

Exports:

  • Total exports stood at 3,061 units, marking a 99% YoY surge.
Veejay Nakra, President of the Automotive Division, commented, “The strong performance in February, with SUV sales growing by 19% and overall volumes increasing by 15%, underscores the sustained demand for our portfolio.”


Farm Equipment Sector Performance

M&M's Farm Equipment Sector (FES) also reported solid growth, with domestic tractor sales reaching 23,880 units, an increase of 19% YoY. The overall tractor sales (including exports) stood at 25,527 units, up 18% YoY.

Farm Equipment Sales Summary:

  • Domestic Sales: 23,880 units, up 19% YoY.
  • Exports: 1,647 units, up 6% YoY.
  • Total Tractor Sales: 25,527 units, marking an 18% YoY growth.
Hemant Sikka, President of Farm Equipment Sector, stated, “Favorable weather conditions, increased agricultural credit limits, and government support for farmers have contributed to strong tractor sales. A positive Rabi crop outlook will further drive demand in the coming months.”

Mahindra's automotive and farm equipment segments continue to witness positive traction, backed by a strong SUV lineup and a growing demand for tractors amid a favorable agricultural environment.
