Case Registered Under Section 152 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita​

Kollam (Kerala), May 14 – The Kerala Police have registered a case against Akhil Marar, a well-known Malayalam television personality and social media influencer, for allegedly making anti-national remarks in a video posted on social media.

According to officials from the Kottarakkara police station, the case has been filed under Section 152 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), a non-bailable offense. This section pertains to actions that threaten the sovereignty, unity, and integrity of the nation.

The complaint was lodged by Anish Kizhakkekkara, a local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader from Kottarakkara. He alleged that the video shared by Marar contained content that was harmful to the nation's interests.

Police officials have confirmed that an investigation is underway. However, they stated that the controversial video has since been deleted. Authorities are currently working to recover the video as part of the ongoing probe.

Officials added that further proceedings in the case will depend on the successful retrieval of the deleted footage.
