FIR Registered Following Complaint by Hindu Yuva Vahini; Accused Later Shouts Anti-Pakistan Slogans at Police Station
Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, May 12 — A man from Bareilly district was arrested on Monday for allegedly posting a video on social media in support of Pakistan, which authorities said posed a threat to national security and sovereignty.Mohammad Sajid, a resident of Girdharpur village under the jurisdiction of Deorania Police Station, was accused of sharing a video on Facebook that featured celebrations and visuals of individuals waving Pakistani flags. According to the police, the video also carried the caption "Pakistan Zindabad".
Baheri Circle Officer Arun Kumar Singh confirmed that a First Information Report (FIR) was registered against Sajid based on a complaint filed by Hindu Yuva Vahini leader Himanshu Patel. The complaint was submitted on Saturday, alleging that the video post was against India’s national interests.
Following the filing of the complaint, Sajid was arrested by the police. However, after his arrest, he reportedly began shouting slogans of "Pakistan Murdabad" (Death to Pakistan) at the police station, officials said.
The police have initiated legal proceedings, and further investigation is underway.
