Jaisalmer, February 28: A man has been taken into custody for allegedly murdering his wife following a domestic dispute in Rajasthan’s Jaisalmer, police officials confirmed on Friday.
The accused, Shobhare Khan (30), has been detained for the murder of his wife, Kayma (22), in Bali Ki Dhani, Ghuriya village, said DSP Roop Singh. According to the police, the crime occurred on Wednesday night, and the woman's body was later abandoned in a deserted house.
Authorities were alerted to the crime on Thursday when the victim’s family reported the incident. Upon reaching the location, the police recovered the body and transferred it to Jawahar Hospital mortuary for a post-mortem examination.
During interrogation, Khan confessed to the murder, police confirmed. However, the case took a new turn after the victim’s brother alleged that Khan was involved with two other women, and all three were responsible for Kayma’s death.
The grieving family staged a protest outside Jawahar Hospital, demanding the immediate arrest of the two women suspected to be involved in the crime. They also refused to proceed with the final rites of the deceased until their demands were met.
DSP Roop Singh stated that the authorities are looking into the family’s claims, and further investigations are underway.
