Thane, February 4 (PTI) – A tragic road rage incident in Navi Mumbai claimed the life of a 45-year-old man after he was brutally attacked by two unidentified scooter riders, police reported on Tuesday.
The incident occurred on Sunday night in Kharghar when the victim, identified as Shivkumar Roshanlal Sharma, a resident of Vashi, was riding his two-wheeler along the Belpada-Utsav Chowk road. According to an official, the altercation began after Sharma allegedly cut in front of the two accused, triggering their anger.
The enraged duo intercepted Sharma’s vehicle, confronted him, and escalated the situation into a violent assault. One of the attackers held Sharma while the other struck him on the head with a helmet, causing him to collapse instantly.
Bystanders at the scene rushed Sharma to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival.
The police have registered a case of murder and are currently scanning CCTV footage and recording witness statements in an effort to identify and apprehend the assailants.
Authorities have urged anyone with information on the case to come forward, as the investigation into this shocking act of road rage continues.
