Amethi, Uttar Pradesh – May 11: A tragic road accident on the Purvanchal Expressway claimed the life of a 30-year-old man and left two others seriously injured on Saturday night, police confirmed.

The incident occurred near Satthin village when a pickup vehicle, laden with watermelons and traveling from Lucknow to Jaunpur, lost control and crashed into a divider.

Mohammad Siraj, a resident of Barabanki district, died in the crash. The other two occupants sustained serious injuries and have been rushed to the district hospital for treatment.

Station House Officer of Shukul Bazar, Daya Shankar Mishra, stated that the body of the deceased has been sent for postmortem examination.

Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident, and further details are awaited.
