Thane, May 10 — In a shocking incident in Maharashtra’s Thane district, a 50-year-old man allegedly murdered his wife following a dispute over property, police confirmed on Saturday.

The accused, identified as Anand Tulsiram Suryavanshi, reportedly attacked his wife, Surekha Suryavanshi (47), with a sharp weapon late on the night of May 9 at their residence in Ulhasnagar.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the altercation stemmed from Surekha’s objection to the proposed transfer of their house’s ownership to her brother-in-law. The victim’s son revealed that the disagreement had led to heated arguments between the couple in recent days.

Police have launched a manhunt for the accused, who is currently absconding.

An investigation is underway and further details are awaited.
