
Imphal, February 16 Security forces have arrested two female militants belonging to different banned groups for their alleged involvement in extortion in Manipur, police said on Monday.
The arrests were made in the Imphal West and East districts on Sunday, according to a police statement.
Twenty-nine-year-old Sanasam Ongbi Santikumari Devi, a member of the United National Liberation Front (Koireng) outfit, was apprehended from the Nongpok Ingkhol area in Imphal East district.
Another female militant, identified as Mutum Joshika Chanu (19), of the Kangleipak Communist Party (Apunba) outfit, was apprehended from her residence in Lamdeng, Imphal West district, the statement added.
