Man's decomposed body found with hands, legs tied in UP's Etah district

Etah (Uttar Pradesh), Feb 4 (PTI) — A decomposed body of a 40-year-old man was discovered in an abandoned plot in Marthra town, Etah district, with his hands and legs bound. The discovery has prompted local police to launch an investigation into the case.

According to Etah Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shyam Narayan Singh, authorities were alerted to the body, which was found in a highly decomposed state. Upon arrival, the police sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

The victim was later identified as Rajendra Prasad, a resident of Kasganj district. Prasad had reportedly visited his sister's house on January 20 but went missing after allegedly returning on January 24 without reaching his home.

Further investigation revealed signs of violent injury, including multiple marks on his head. His neck bones were exposed, and much of the flesh from his body had been stripped away. Despite these apparent signs of foul play, money was found in his pocket, and his personal belongings, including clothes, were discovered in his bag.

The police are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding Prasad's death.
