New Delhi, May 12 – Maruti Suzuki India has announced a major safety upgrade, making six airbags standard across its popular models WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco. The move marks a significant step in the company's commitment to enhancing passenger safety across its product range.
In a statement, Maruti Suzuki emphasized that this decision reflects its dedication to meeting the evolving safety needs of Indian road users.
"India's rapidly expanding modern road infrastructure, high-speed expressways, and evolving mobility patterns imply that the need for robust safety measures has never been greater," said Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer (Marketing & Sales), Maruti Suzuki India.
With these upgrades, the company aims to make advanced safety features accessible to a broader segment of Indian motorists. Banerjee added, "Given the immense popularity of these models, this move substantially elevates safety standards for a vast number of motorists and contributes holistically to occupant protection nationwide."
The WagonR, Alto K10, Celerio, and Eeco are part of Maruti Suzuki’s Arena lineup, catering to value-conscious customers across India. The company's premium offerings, including the Grand Vitara and Invicto, continue to be available through its Nexa dealership network.
