New Delhi, January 29, 2025—Maruti Suzuki India Limited (NSE: MARUTI, BSE: 532500) announced key leadership reappointments following a Board of Directors meeting on January 29, 2025.

Key Leadership Changes

  • Hisashi Takeuchi has been reappointed as Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer for three years, effective April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2028.
  • Maheswar Sahu has been reappointed as an Independent Director for an additional five-year term, effective May 14, 2025, to May 13, 2030, subject to shareholder approval.

Profile of Hisashi Takeuchi

  • Joined Suzuki Motor Corporation (SMC) in 1986 and held key roles in overseas marketing.
  • Served as Managing Director of Magyar Suzuki Corporation, Hungary, in 2009.
  • Held executive leadership roles at SMC, Japan, from 2019, managing Asia and India automobile marketing.
  • Joined Maruti Suzuki in April 2021 as Joint Managing Director (Commercial).
  • Appointed as MD & CEO in April 2022, overseeing global automobile marketing, technology, and business strategy.

Profile of Maheswar Sahu

  • Over 20 years of experience in industry and government leadership.
  • Held senior roles in public sector management, including Additional Chief Secretary (Industries & Mines), Government of Gujarat.
  • Played a key role in organizing four ‘Vibrant Gujarat’ investment summits.
  • Served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Communication & IT and Ministry of Environment & Forests, Government of India.
