Maruti Suzuki Reports Record Exports of 3.32 Lakh Units in FY2024-25, Up 17.5%

Company now accounts for nearly 43% of India’s total vehicle exports​

New Delhi, April 1:
Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) announced a record-breaking export performance for the fiscal year 2024-25, with a total of 3,32,585 units shipped overseas, reflecting a 17.5% increase over the previous fiscal year.

In FY2023-24, the automaker had exported 2,83,067 units. With this surge, MSI now contributes nearly 43% of India's total vehicle exports, solidifying its leadership in the passenger vehicle export segment.

Fronx, Jimny, Swift Among Top Exported Models​

According to the company's statement, the top exported models included the Fronx, Jimny, Baleno, Swift, and Dzire. These vehicles played a significant role in the export milestone, particularly in key global markets such as South Africa, Saudi Arabia, Chile, Japan, and Mexico.

New Models Find Success in Japan​

During the fiscal, MSI began exporting the Fronx and Jimny 5-door to Japan. Commenting on the market response, Managing Director & CEO Hisashi Takeuchi said both models received an overwhelming reception, reinforcing India’s reputation as a rising global manufacturing hub.

e-VITARA Set for Global Export Rollout in FY2025-26​

Looking ahead, Takeuchi highlighted MSI’s strategic role in Suzuki’s global plans. “India is the global manufacturing hub of Suzuki’s first global strategic BEV, the e-VITARA. In FY2025-26, we will initiate exports of e-VITARA to around 100 countries, including Europe and Japan,” he said.

Decades of Export Legacy​

Maruti Suzuki began exporting vehicles from India in 1986, with the first major shipment of 500 cars sent to Hungary in September 1987. Currently, the company exports 17 models to nearly 100 countries and achieved a major milestone of 3 million cumulative exports in November 2024.

Takeuchi concluded, “Aligned with the Government of India’s Make in India vision, this achievement is a proud moment, reaffirming our commitment to manufacturing excellence and global trust.”
