Massive Fire Erupts at Jhandewalan's Anarkali Complex in Delhi, Several Cars Destroyed

New Delhi, April 1 — A major fire broke out at the Anarkali Commercial Complex in Block E3 of Central Delhi’s Jhandewalan Extension on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in extensive damage, including several vehicles gutted in the blaze.

Fire Breaks Out at 2:35 PM, Rapid Response by Fire Services​

According to Delhi Fire Services (DFS), a distress call was received at around 2:35 PM reporting the fire at the busy commercial location. In response, fifteen fire tenders were swiftly deployed to the scene to combat the flames. Initially, eight fire tenders were dispatched, with more joining as the fire escalated.

Fire Spreads to DDA Shopping Complex and Nearby Bank​

The fire, which started in the Anarkali Complex, soon spread to the adjacent DDA Shopping Complex, causing further alarm. DCP (Central) M Harsha Vardhan confirmed that both firefighters and police personnel are actively involved in containment efforts.

Police officials reported that several cars parked near the building were completely destroyed. The fire also reached a nearby bank, intensifying the situation.

Ongoing Operation, No Casualties Reported Yet​

The firefighting operation is still underway, and no reports of injuries or casualties have been confirmed so far. Authorities are working to control the blaze and assess the full extent of the damage.
