Imphal, May 14 – A 21-year-old nursing student from Meghalaya was found dead in her hostel room at the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Imphal on Wednesday, triggering an investigation by local authorities.
The student, identified as Abiel Sachiana from Rengram in West Garo Hills, was a fourth-semester nursing student at the institute. According to officials, she was discovered hanging in her hostel room.
Police have confirmed the incident and said that a probe is currently underway to ascertain the circumstances surrounding her death. Further details are awaited as the investigation continues.
