Los Angeles, May 12 – Oscar-winning actor Michelle Yeoh is set to lead the cast of an upcoming stylised action film titled The Surgeon, written and directed by Rohsan Sethi.
Best known globally for her role in Crazy Rich Asians and more recently lauded for her Oscar-winning performance in Everything Everywhere All at Once, Yeoh continues to expand her versatile repertoire with this high-stakes thriller. The film will see the 62-year-old star portraying a retired surgeon who is abducted and compelled to perform a critical operation on a mysterious patient, thrusting her into a tense and action-packed narrative.
The Surgeon marks another major collaboration for Yeoh, following her latest appearance in Wicked, the 2024 musical adaptation helmed by Jon M. Chu. In Wicked, she starred alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The film was released in November 2024 and received significant attention for its star-studded cast and musical direction.
