Hyderabad, May 19 — Contestants of the 72nd Miss World Festival were given a unique opportunity to explore Telangana’s technological and cultural landscape with a visit to the state’s Integrated Command and Control Center (TGICCC) and the Telangana Secretariat. The event showcased the state's robust public safety infrastructure and its cultural richness, reinforcing Telangana’s growing image as a global tourism and innovation destination.
State-of-the-Art Policing on Display
The visit to the Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Center (TGICCC) offered the 107 international delegates an immersive experience into the state’s advanced safety and urban management systems. The facility, a symbol of Telangana’s smart governance, is equipped with cutting-edge technologies such as AI-driven analytics, real-time surveillance, and emergency response coordination capabilities.A ceremonial escort by the police and a vibrant Pipe Band performance welcomed the guests, setting the tone for an engaging and insightful tour. A K9 unit dog show highlighted the agility and training of police dogs, while an arms exhibition displayed the Telangana police's modern weaponry and safety equipment.
Julia Morley, CEO of the Miss World Organisation, praised the facility, stating,
"The TGICCC stands as a shining example of how technology and dedicated policing can come together to create a safer environment for residents and visitors alike."
She added that the visit deepened the contestants' appreciation for the role of safety in building secure and vibrant communities.
A Cultural Immersion at the Telangana Secretariat
Later in the day, the participants visited the Telangana Secretariat, where they received a grand reception. The event began with a group photograph and a floral tribute to the ‘Telangana Thalli’ statue as the state anthem played — a gesture celebrating Telangana’s heritage and identity.The contestants enjoyed a traditional high tea, featuring iconic local snacks such as Osmania and Madam biscuits, giving them a taste of Telangana’s culinary legacy.
A cheerful interactive session allowed participants to share their experiences and impressions of the sites they visited, fostering cross-cultural engagement.
