Palghar, Feb 27 – The body of a 37-year-old man, who had been missing for five days, was discovered near the Palghar district collector's office, police confirmed on Thursday.
The deceased, identified as Narayan Rahane, was a resident of Vikramgad taluka in Palghar district. According to Inspector Anant Parad of Palghar police station, Rahane was found dead under a tree on Wednesday afternoon.
Rahane had traveled to Palghar on February 22 to attend an event featuring Guardian Minister Ganesh Naik. However, he did not return home, prompting his family to file a missing person complaint.
Authorities have launched a detailed investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.
