Srinagar, Feb 2 (PTI): Rifleman Abid Bhat, an off-duty soldier who had gone missing on Saturday, has returned home in Chittergul, Anantnag district of Jammu and Kashmir, officials confirmed.
Bhat had left his residence to report for duty at Rangreth but failed to reach his camp, prompting a missing persons report to be filed by the police. His disappearance sparked concern, but he returned home safely by Sunday evening.
Authorities have not disclosed details about where he was during the missing hours. Police are questioning him to ascertain the circumstances of his absence. Meanwhile, the Srinagar-based defence PRO has refrained from commenting on the matter.
