Moradabad School Incident: Class 3 Student Suffers Eye Injury, Inquiry Launched

Moradabad, Feb 27 – A Class 3 student at Bhogpur Mithoni Primary School in Moradabad allegedly sustained a severe eye injury, leading to vision loss in one eye, triggering an official inquiry into the matter. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday, has led to accusations against the school principal.

Following the incident, the victim’s mother, Jyoti Kashyap, filed a complaint with the District Magistrate, alleging that her daughter, Himanshi, suffered the injury due to the actions of Principal Geeta Karal.

However, Principal Karal has refuted these claims, asserting that Himanshi already had weak eyesight. According to her, the injury occurred accidentally when a classmate, Benazeer, unintentionally hit Himanshi’s face with her elbow while completing her work, resulting in eye swelling.

The situation escalated further when Jyoti Kashyap visited the school the same day, seeking a medical certificate from the principal. Upon being denied the document—on the grounds that the principal was not authorized to issue medical reports—Jyoti allegedly threatened Karal.

In response to the allegations and the serious nature of the incident, Moradabad’s Basic Siksha Adhikari (BSA) Ajit Kumar announced on Thursday that an inquiry has been initiated. The investigation is being led by Additional BSA Shivam Gupta, who will assess the circumstances surrounding the incident before any further action is taken.

Authorities are now awaiting the inquiry report to determine the appropriate course of action in this matter.
