Jaipur, Feb 28: A tragic incident unfolded in Jaipur’s Sambhar area on Friday morning when a dilapidated house partially collapsed, killing a woman and her young son while leaving two others injured.

According to police, the deceased, identified as 35-year-old Hansa Devi and her seven-year-old son Lokesh, were asleep in their residence in Ringi village when a portion of the house gave way, trapping them under the debris. Devi’s second son, Dilsukh, and a relative, Chandaram, sustained injuries in the accident.

Station House Officer (SHO) of Sambhar, Rajendra Kumar, stated that a preliminary investigation suggested that the house had old structural cracks, which likely led to its collapse.

Following a post-mortem examination, the bodies were handed over to the family. Meanwhile, authorities have registered a case and initiated an investigation into the matter.

This incident highlights the dangers of residing in aging and structurally weak buildings, underscoring the need for timely repairs and inspections to prevent such tragedies.
