Kathmandu, May 11 – A team of ten mountaineers, including five Nepalese and five foreign climbers, successfully scaled Mt Kanchenjunga on Saturday, marking the first ascent of the world’s third-highest peak in the current climbing season.

The 8,586-metre-high mountain, located on the border between Nepal and India, remains one of the most challenging summits in the Himalayas.

According to Thaneswar Guragai, General Manager of Seven Summit Treks, the climbers reached the summit after a coordinated and arduous ascent.
