Calls for Collective Responsibility Amid Political Sparring

New Delhi, May 17 – Senior BJP leader and former Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi on Saturday emphasized the importance of national unity over political point-scoring, urging everyone to avoid creating confusion surrounding the success of Operation Sindoor.

Speaking during a ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in Uttar Pradesh’s Rampur, Naqvi hailed the Indian armed forces for decisively dismantling terror bases in Pakistan, describing the operation as a powerful demonstration of India's resolve against terrorism.

Strong Words Against Critics

In a statement issued by his office, Naqvi responded to criticism, notably from the Congress party, which accused the BJP of politicizing Operation Sindoor. The Congress had also announced plans to hold rallies nationwide, questioning the prime minister’s silence on former US President Donald Trump's reported mediation offer during the conflict.

Without directly naming any party, Naqvi remarked, “It is the responsibility of all to refrain from any attempt to create confusion on the victory of the country.” He criticized “irresponsible statements” and called for collective support for the nation’s military achievements.

Praises Armed Forces and PM Modi’s Leadership

Naqvi lauded the armed forces for what he described as a “bulldozing” of terrorist sanctuaries and sponsors in Pakistan, asserting that the lesson dealt would resonate for generations.

“Today the entire nation is saluting the bravery of our armed forces. Our Army’s courage and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s capable and credible leadership has instilled faith in the country and fear in enemies,” he stated.

Rampur Hosts Patriotic Procession

The ‘Tiranga Yatra’ began from Pandit Deen Dayal Chowk and concluded at Gandhi Samadhi, drawing significant public participation. The event was part of a broader initiative to commemorate the success of Operation Sindoor and express national solidarity.

Naqvi’s comments come at a politically sensitive time, with parties positioning themselves around national security narratives ahead of major political developments.
