FIR Registered After CCTV Probe Confirms Incident at Mahim​

Mumbai, May 18 – A prominent real estate developer and 50 others have been booked for allegedly breaking into a businessman’s office in Mahim and demanding money from him. The incident, which reportedly occurred in February, was formally registered recently following an initial police investigation that included CCTV footage verification.

According to officials from Mahim police station, the complaint was filed by Tarik Chunawala, the owner of Hotel Al-Lazeez and Bright Guest House located near Mahim Dargah. In his statement, Chunawala accused builder Waseem Khandwani and a group of associates of forcefully entering his office, looting valuables worth ₹61.68 lakh, and demanding ₹10 lakh from him.

"The case was filed after we reviewed CCTV footage and other preliminary evidence," said a police official. "We have booked the accused under several sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita related to house trespass, housebreaking, extortion, voluntarily causing hurt, unlawful assembly, wrongful restraint, and other relevant offences."

Authorities have not confirmed any arrests at this stage, but the investigation is ongoing.
