
Hyderabad, February 13 The ruling Congress party was on track to secure a decisive victory in the Telangana municipal elections, with its candidates poised to win over 1,200 wards by Friday afternoon. The BRS party was expected to win over 600 wards, followed by the BJP with over 200 wards, as vote counting progressed.
Out of the total 2,582 wards in 116 municipalities, Congress candidates were projected to win 1,247 wards.
Vote counting began at 123 centers across the state at 8 AM. Postal ballots were processed first.
The elections were held on February 11 for 2,582 wards in 116 municipalities and 414 wards in seven municipal corporations.
