
The 6th Sector of the Indian Army's Rashtriya Rifles organised a grand Mushaira at the Government Degree College (GDC), Surankote, as part of the annual Pir Panjal Winter Festival.
The literary event drew a large and enthusiastic crowd of poetry lovers, students, members of the civil society, and prominent citizens from across the region. The Mushaira became a key highlight of the festival, celebrating the rich cultural and literary heritage of the Pir Panjal region.
Renowned poets and local literary figures recited moving verses on themes of peace, unity, patriotism, and communal harmony. The audience responded with great appreciation, applauding the powerful performances that reflected the spirit of the festival.
In their speeches, dignitaries praised the efforts of the 6th Sector of the Rashtriya Rifles in organising such a meaningful cultural event. They emphasised that Mushairas and similar events play a vital role in preserving literary traditions while strengthening communal bonds and fostering togetherness.
The Commander of the 6th Sector of the Rashtriya Rifles highlighted the importance of engaging with the local community through cultural initiatives, stating that such platforms promote peace, mutual understanding, and positive youth participation.
Prominent local poet Pardeep Khanna also expressed gratitude to the Indian Army for organising the Mushaira and providing a platform for literary expression during the Pir Panjal Winter Festival.
