February 15, Kohima: Sashimongla Sangtam, founder of A&D Solar Enterprise in Nagaland, has been awarded the ‘DRE Woman of the Year’ at the 2026 India Distributed Renewable Energy Summit, held in New Delhi.
The award recognizes her efforts in expanding decentralized renewable energy solutions to support women, persons with disabilities, and vulnerable communities across Nagaland.
Through solar dryers, off-grid power systems, and clean energy support for micro-enterprises, A&D Solar has helped local entrepreneurs increase their income, reduce energy costs, and improve productivity.
The summit, held from February 9 to 11, was organized by CLEAN and supported by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.
