JAMMU, FEBRUARY 11: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah informed the Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly that the construction of the Tourist Hut at Naranag, which began in 2010, remains incomplete due to land disputes and site-related issues.
Responding to a question from MLA Mian Mehar Ali during the Budget Session, the Chief Minister said that approximately 70 percent of the work had been completed before it was halted due to objections from a local resident who was seeking compensation or employment.
He stated that a report from the Tehsildar Kangan clarified that the site falls on forest land beyond the boundary of the Wangath estate. The matter has been taken up with the Divisional Forest Officer, Sindh Forest Division, for verification of land records.
The Chief Minister added that no further funds have been allocated due to the pending dispute and assured that details will be shared once the verification process is completed.
