New Delhi, Feb 27 – The National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society (KITS) to accelerate innovation and intellectual property (IP) growth within Karnataka’s technology sector.

KITS, which operates under the Department of Electronics, Information Technology, Biotechnology, and Science & Technology of the Karnataka government, will collaborate with Nasscom to strengthen the state's reputation as a leading innovation hub. The initiative aims to enhance IP creation and drive economic growth by developing and commercializing advanced technologies.

A key component of this partnership is establishing an IP enablement program designed to support innovation and increase patent filings in Karnataka. This will be achieved through structured mentorship, technical guidance, and targeted support mechanisms.

As part of the initiative, technical assistance will be provided through IP mentorship programs, awareness workshops, and capacity-building efforts across educational institutions. Startups and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) will receive dedicated mentorship and resources to enhance their IP management capabilities, ultimately accelerating patent filings and fostering technological advancements in the state.

The collaboration is expected to significantly contribute to Karnataka’s evolving tech ecosystem by reinforcing the state's leadership in innovation and intellectual property development.
