Calls for Unity Across Religions and Regions After Pahalgam Attack
Vijayawada, May 10 – Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday called upon all Indians to stand united for the nation, asserting that “nation must come first” in times of crisis. His remarks came during an inter-faith meeting convened by Governor S Abdul Nazeer at the Raj Bhavan, held in the backdrop of the recent Pahalgam attack and the India-Pakistan ceasefire following ‘Operation Sindoor’.“Nation first. We have to protect our country,” Naidu said, urging people from all religions, castes, and regions to move forward collectively. “Let any problem come to the country, every person living in Bharat should not only say that we all will be together but it is also the responsibility of all of us to walk forward together.”
Pahalgam Attack: An Assault on Peace
Referring to the deadly Pahalgam incident, Naidu underlined that it was not just an attack on innocent tourists, but a calculated move to disturb the peace of the nation. He stated that such acts of terrorism must be universally condemned without delay.He noted that the condemnation came immediately from across the country, highlighting India's collective resolve against any force that tries to destabilise national harmony.

Governor S Abdul Nazeer praised the Indian armed forces for their “exemplary courage, surgical precision, and strategic restraint” in response to the Pahalgam attack. He cited the Defence Ministry’s statement that the retaliatory strikes were “focused, measured, and non-escalatory,” deliberately avoiding any damage to Pakistani military or civilian infrastructure.“This measured response demonstrated India’s strength and responsibility,” said the Governor, underscoring the nation's maturity in handling conflict without escalation.
The inter-faith meeting reflected a united front among community leaders and top officials, reinforcing the message of national unity in the face of adversity.
