The Ministry of Women and Child Development will organize a "National Conference on Safety of Women at the Workplace (SHe-Box)" at Vigyan Bhawan in New Delhi tomorrow. The conference aims to create safe, dignified, and harassment-free workplaces for all women across all sectors and to strengthen the implementation of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013.
Union Women and Child Development Minister Annapurna Devi, Minister of State Savitri Thakur, and senior government officials from Central Ministries, departments, States, and Union Territories will attend the conference. A National Workplace Safety Pledge will also be administered during the event.
The Ministry launched the SHe-Box portal in August 2024 as a secure, user-friendly, multilingual, single-window platform with strict confidentiality, allowing online complaint filing, automatic forwarding to the concerned Internal or Local Committee, and real-time tracking to enhance transparency and accountability for assisting stakeholders in the effective implementation of the POSH Act.
The portal serves as a resource hub, enabling workplaces to upload compliance-related information, including committee details, annual reports, and awareness and training initiatives.
