New Delhi, February 25: The Ministry of Ayush has honored three distinguished Ayurveda practitioners with the National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards for their remarkable contributions to traditional Indian medicine.
The recipients of this prestigious recognition for the current year include:
- Vaidya Tara Chand Sharma, a renowned Nadi Vaidya and acclaimed author.
- Vaidya Maya Ram Uniyal, an esteemed scholar specializing in Dravyaguna Vigyana, with six decades of dedicated service.
- Vaidya Sameer Govind Jamadagni, the visionary founder of the Vishwa Vyakhyanmala national conference.
The awards ceremony took place in Mumbai on February 20, with Prataprao Jadhav, Union Minister of State for Ayush (Independent Charge), conferring the honors. Speaking at the event, Jadhav emphasized India's significant contributions to global healthcare, stating,
"The National Dhanwantari Ayurveda Awards recognize the relentless dedication of these visionaries in advancing Ayurveda. Their work exemplifies India's mission to integrate ancient wisdom with modern healthcare."
Ayush Secretary Vaidya Rajesh Kotecha lauded the awardees for their efforts in modernizing Ayurveda while preserving its authenticity.
