Gangtok, May 15 – National Highway 10, the key arterial route linking Sikkim and Kalimpong in West Bengal with Siliguri, will remain temporarily closed on May 15, 17 and 19 for essential maintenance work, the National Highways and Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) has announced.
According to the official notification, the highway will be shut from 9 AM to 6 PM on each of the scheduled days. The planned closure is part of ongoing infrastructure maintenance aimed at ensuring safer and smoother travel along the heavily used route.
This disruption is expected to impact the travel plans of tourists and commuters using the Siliguri-Gangtok corridor, which serves as a lifeline for both daily transportation and tourism-related movement.

Authorities have urged all travelers to replan their itineraries accordingly and explore alternative routes during the scheduled closures to avoid inconvenience.
