Navi Mumbai Murder Case: Woman, Son, and Two Others Arrested for Husband’s Killing

Thane, February 28 – In a shocking turn of events, police have arrested a woman and two others in connection with the murder of her 38-year-old husband, Sachin More, whose body was discovered on a creek bridge in Vavhal village, Ulwe, Navi Mumbai. The couple’s teenage son has also been detained and sent to a remand home for his alleged involvement in the crime.

Investigation Unfolds

According to police officials, More’s body was found on the morning of February 23, but his identity remained unknown at the time. Initially, a case of accidental death was registered. However, the investigation took a new direction when a woman and her son approached the police station to report the disappearance of her husband since February 22.

Upon being shown a photograph of the deceased, the duo identified him as Sachin More. When police questioned the woman, her evasive responses raised suspicion. A deeper probe involving an analysis of her mobile phone records, call data, and CCTV footage from the vicinity of their home led to crucial evidence.

Murder Conspiracy Unraveled

The autopsy report confirmed that More had died of suffocation, with his nose and mouth gagged. This prompted the police to reclassify the case as a murder investigation.

During interrogation, the woman reportedly confessed that she was facing harassment from her husband and sought a divorce. However, as More refused to part ways, she conspired with her son, a friend named Rohit Temkar, and an autorickshaw driver, Pratamesh Mhatre, to eliminate him.

As per the plan, the woman mixed a large dose of a sleep-inducing drug into bitter gourd juice and gave it to More. Once he fell unconscious, the group placed him in an autorickshaw. Later, the woman used a long cloth to strangle him, and his body was dumped from the bridge.

Arrests and Legal Proceedings

Following the probe, police arrested the 35-year-old wife, her accomplices Rohit Temkar and Pratamesh Mhatre, on Thursday. Meanwhile, the 16-year-old son was taken into custody and sent to a juvenile remand home.

The arrested individuals were presented before a court, which remanded them to police custody until March 5 as the investigation continues.

This disturbing case has shocked the local community, highlighting the tragic consequences of domestic disputes escalating into extreme violence.
