NCRTC Launches Co-Working Space at Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station to Promote Smart Urban Mobil...webp

New Delhi, May 11 — In a major push toward integrating urban mobility with modern work solutions, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has unveiled a new co-working facility at the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station. The initiative aims to offer daily commuters, especially remote workers and entrepreneurs, a flexible and professional environment close to home.

Premium Workspace at a Transit Hub

Located on the concourse level of the station, the facility features 42 open workstations, 11 private cabins, and two fully equipped meeting rooms. Tailored for professionals, startups, and small businesses, the space provides a productive alternative to traditional office setups while promoting ease of access and time efficiency.

The Ghaziabad station, situated on the bustling Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut RRTS corridor and directly connected to the Shahid Sthal Metro Station, witnesses significant footfall, making it a strategic location for this smart mobility initiative.

Smart Features and Round-the-Clock Access

The co-working space is outfitted with high-speed internet, plug-and-play desks, and 24/7 access. Advanced amenities include biometric and keycard entry, IoT-enabled lighting and climate control, and automated meeting room booking systems. Additional services such as video conferencing tools, wireless screen sharing, and QR-based hot-desk bookings and vending machine access further enhance convenience.

Refreshment Lounge and Premium Travel Options

As part of enhancing passenger experience, NCRTC has partnered with Coca-Cola to introduce a refreshment zone in the premium lounge at the station. This lounge offers cushioned seating along with vending machines for soft drinks and bottled water.

Commuters can now upgrade to premium class travel by paying just 20 percent extra. For example, a Rs 100 standard ticket can be upgraded to premium for an additional Rs 20, offering access to better seating, lounge facilities, and a more comfortable travel experience.

Namo Bharat Corridor and Future Expansion

Currently, Namo Bharat trains operate along a 55-kilometre stretch covering 11 stations including New Ashok Nagar, Anand Vihar, Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Guldhar, Duhai, Duhai Depot, Muradnagar, Modi Nagar South, Modi Nagar North, and Meerut South.

Trial runs are ongoing on the remaining segment of the 82-kilometre corridor, including the Meerut Metro stretch, which is expected to be completed later this year.

A Step Forward in Urban Mobility and Revenue Generation

The new co-working facility not only enhances commuter convenience but also aligns with NCRTC’s strategy to generate non-fare revenue and promote smart, sustainable urban transit ecosystems.

With this initiative, the Ghaziabad Namo Bharat Station is set to become more than just a transit point — transforming into a modern hub that caters to the evolving needs of urban professionals.
