Hyderabad, Feb 2 (PTI) – Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Ramdas Athawale on Sunday refuted allegations that the NDA government at the Centre is "anti-Muslim," emphasizing that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s administration works for all sections of society without discrimination.

Addressing a press conference, Athawale highlighted various welfare schemes and programs initiated by the central government, asserting that they are inclusive and benefit all communities.

"I want to tell the Muslim community that our government is not anti-Muslim. Our government works for everyone. The schemes I mentioned do not exclude Muslims," he stated.

Defends Union Budget Against Telangana Criticism

Responding to criticism from the ruling Congress in Telangana, which accused the Centre of neglecting the state in the Union Budget 2025-26, Athawale clarified that the budget is not allocated state-wise but aims for the nationwide implementation of central schemes.

"The budget is not divided state-wise. The Centre wants its schemes to be implemented in every state, including Telangana. However, I will look into the proposals sent by the state government," he assured.
Athawale further noted that his Social Justice Ministry has received a significant boost in funding in the budget, reinforcing the government's commitment to supporting marginalized communities and advancing social justice.

Congress Holds Protest Over Budget

Meanwhile, the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC), led by state unit president B Mahesh Kumar Goud, staged a protest in Hyderabad, alleging that the Union Budget 2025-26 has ignored Telangana’s interests. The party criticized the Centre for failing to address the state’s financial and development concerns.

The budget debate continues to spark political reactions, with the NDA defending its policies while the opposition demands a more state-focused approach to economic planning.
